Used Textbooks

There’s a website that sells used textbooks that I’ve been looking at for a while now. I also contacted them to ask if they ship to Italy, but for now they don’t, so unless I get one of my friends in the US to buy some for me and send them by post to my address, I can’t buy for now. Well, it’s still one of my favourite textbook websites, one that I’d really love to use for my courses and for my kids’ :)
Anyway, I’ve known families who perceive the act of buying used textbooks as an offense to their children’s pride. Seriously, I think this is crap! There’s nothing wrong with buying second-hand, especially if you have a bit family to care for. New books are too expensive to afford at times, and used ones still allow our kids to study and get excellent grades at school. So yeah, just because a book has creases doesn’t make it less worth! I hope people will second-think about this before they go wasting money on new books and finding less money to buy food for their kids.
